The 22nd annual Blood Battle is underway as USU students donate blood at Taggart Student Center from Sept.2-5 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.—while WSU will hold its drive next week at the Shepherd Union Building and Dee Event Center with both schools aiming to collect 1,000 to 1,500 units. Donors who give blood from Aug.29 to Sept.21 will receive a Peanuts-themed mystery bag, and the drive has collected over 20,000 units since 2003.

Lt. Gov Deidre Henderson said lawmakers now have until November 10 to redraw Utah’s congressional maps for the 2026 midterm elections after a judge invalidated the old boundaries—legislators must hold public input sessions and a special legislative session to meet Proposition 4 standards with a hearing set for October 23rd and 24th.

In an Ogden neighborhood, residents met at the park and urged city leaders to buy the five-acre green space—former Taylor Canyon Elementary property—that is up for sale as the school district sells unused land. A GoFundMe campaign has been started to help fund the park's preservation before any redevelopment takes place.
