ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The University of Utah launched a free online tool that lets local users adjust water levels+ shows how dust from the Great Salt Lake spreads across neighborhoods. Researchers said lower lake levels will raise dust exposure and may speed up snow melt. KSL-TV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today marks the 30th anniversary of the Amber Alert system, which has helped recover nearly 1,300 children nationwide, including an Ogden alert last November. Officials say the program works when emergencies arise (77 alerts in Utah have assisted 97 kids since 2002). KSL-TV
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Ogden Fire Department launched a mobile outreach clinic this week to meet non-emergency health needs of homeless residents across the city using a state grant to fund homeless advocates (the service is already reducing 911 calls). KSL-TV
