  • Weber State University’s Ogden Civic Action Network (OgdenCAN) celebrates its 10-year milestone by launching a social media and fundraising campaign and will host a community breakfast in Ogden’s East Central neighborhood; the group plans to expand its Community Leaders Network to reach new neighborhoods soon.  Standard-Examiner

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Intermountain Health will freeze pension contributions for more than 22,000 caregivers at the end of 2026 and shift to a 401(k)-only system in 2027. The healthcare leader will add a 2% automatic plus a 4% matching contribution starting next year.  The Salt Lake Tribune

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Utah lawmakers have reserved about $6 million for potential litigation over the Colorado River as drought and stalled negotiations risk water supplies for millions in the region. The package includes $5 million for 2027 legal action and $1 million for technical support to strengthen state water security.  The Salt Lake Tribune

HEALTH NEWS

  • Utah’s Long-Term Care Ombudsman program offers free advocacy for residents in nursing homes and assisted living facilities, helping families address care issues by connecting them with local services (available in each county). Call or visit ltco.utah.gov to learn more.  FOX 13 News
  • Utah saw about 35,000 fewer residents choose Affordable Care Act plans for next year after federal subsidies ended on Jan. 1 & premiums surged, with advocates warning that rising costs may force more Utahns to drop insurance.
