- ➤ Gas prices in Utah increased Tuesday — the average for regular unleaded rose $.19 to $2.90 due to seasonal trends and Middle East instability. Experts said drivers can expect further increases into the summer. KSL-TV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Students at Ben Lomond High School explored aerospace and defense careers on Tuesday in the school’s athletic center where companies showcased job paths from technician work to engineering. Industry leader Edson Barton said the event aimed to broaden student horizons and highlight the field’s impact on the local economy. KSL-TV
- ➤ A bill to expand the school lunch program for hungry students was blocked by the House Education Committee today with an 8-1 vote, halting its progress for this session. Lawmaker Luz Escamilla said she will reintroduce the bill next session in 2027. FOX 13 News
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Feb. 28, 2026, 113 runners raced up and down Malan’s Peak in Ogden to raise money for new air quality monitors. The funds will support additional installations on city and university property — a local effort to track PM2.5 and PM10. KUER

- ➤ Big Sky Conference women’s basketball tournament starts Saturday, March 7 at Idaho Central Arena in Boise, Idaho. The event will stream on ESPN+ with the championship game airing on Wednesday, March 11. Standard-Examiner
