COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Do Good Today, a nonprofit helping families leave homelessness in Ogden, is raising $11,000 to replace its lost box truck so it can deliver donated furniture to about 20 families. The new truck will transport needed items like beds, sofas and TVs, ensuring families receive essential furnishings.  FOX 13 News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Utah wildlife officials advise residents to exercise caution as rattlesnakes emerge from winter dens during spring and early summer. They recommend staying at least 10 feet away and not harassing the snakes, noting that these native species help control rodent populations.  FOX 13 News
  • The state will require a hunting or fishing license or registration to enter any Wildlife Management Area by July 2028. Visitors including runners, bikers and birders were upset last summer after receiving citations for unauthorized entry.  The Salt Lake Tribune

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Area residents from Weber, Morgan, and Davis counties are invited to join a Court Connect town hall at the 2nd District Juvenile Courthouse tomorrow from 6-8 p.m. to ask questions and learn about court services (a free event to boost community trust in the judiciary).  Standard-Examiner

HEALTH NEWS

  • Health officials reported that measles cases increased by 85 in the last 10 days, bringing the cumulative total to 443 since early 2025 (with most new cases in Southwest Utah and other districts).  Gephardt Daily
  • Weber State spirit squad shows strong community care as graduate student Johanna Simon and cancer patient Kara Oliver—finalists for Team Impact's 2026 Teammate of the Year award—demonstrate their bond in fighting Ewing sarcoma. Oliver's family and the squad will continue regular visits to support her recovery.  Standard-Examiner

  • Freeride skier Wynter McBride, ranked fifth on the Freeride World Tour, plans to coach young skiers and work toward competing in the Olympics if freeride becomes an Olympic sport.
