- ➤ Former daycare employee Tanner Dobson, 30, was sentenced to 15 consecutive years to life for aggravated sexual abuse and child exploitation against a 5-year-old girl in Ogden — he had been in custody since January 2024. KSL-TV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ North Ogden Police Chief Brian Eynon has been reinstated after an independent review found he made a poor decision by getting intoxicated during a DUI training exercise—he took full responsibility and no crime was committed. The chief, who was on leave since Feb. 12, will now implement revised training policies as North Ogden works to improve oversight. Gephardt Daily
- ➤ At the 2025 legislative session, lawmakers did not fully fund most water conservation bills for the Great Salt Lake, approving only limited money for dust monitors at $150,000, water leasing for the lake, a visitor center at Antelope Island, and a partial cloud seeding program. Panelists say more help from farmers is needed to protect the lake — their concerns focus on health risks from dust and the lake's low water level. The Salt Lake Tribune
