- ➤ Yesterday, AAA reported that gas reached $4.01 per gallon nationally while Utah’s average hit $4.199, with prices rising amid global oil supply concerns. The surge followed escalating conflict in the Middle East that disrupted key oil routes. Gephardt Daily
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Ogden officials are considering how Ogden-Hinckley Airport (a key local facility) can join the uFLY program to test advanced electric aircraft soon. The effort will guide local transportation upgrades as Utah leads a federal pilot with partners from other states. Standard-Examiner
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Starting May 6, synthetic and enhanced kratom will be banned in Utah retail stores while whole-leaf kratom remains available for adults in smoke shops. Manufacturing synthetic kratom will also be outlawed beginning May 6, 2027, as officials work to reduce opioid-like overdose risks. KSL-TV
- ➤ A coalition of local groups announced a harm reduction vending machine project that will install 10 machines at key sites in Ogden to offer naloxone kits, fentanyl test strips, hygiene items & safe sex supplies.
