- ➤ An Ogden police officer was involved in a shooting early Friday morning near Motel 6 on West 21st Street in West Haven when officers attempted to apprehend a suspect with a firearm and held a press conference at 8:00 a.m. FOX 13 News
- ➤ Early Friday morning at Motel 6 on 1206 W. 21st St. in West Haven, Ogden officers from the Metro Gang Task Force shot a fleeing suspect involved in an aggravated robbery when he produced a firearm — the suspect died while one officer was injured and released from the hospital, and two officers have been placed on administrative leave pending an independent investigation. - ➤ Ogden Police Department responded to a call on Wednesday night at about 9:06 p.m. on the 400 block of 800 North in Ogden where a 40-year-old woman was found with a single gunshot wound to her left upper chest — she was taken to a local hospital and died, with her identity remaining unreleased. - ➤ Ogden Friends of Acoustic Music announced the 17th annual Ogden Music Festival lineup for May 30-June 1 at Fort Buenaventura in Ogden. The festival will host acts such as Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives — Cimafunk and John Craigie and The Coffis Brothers and is expected to draw about 3500 attendees. Standard-Examiner

- ➤ Cache County approved Powder Mountain’s request for a new private lift, maintenance shack, and 9.2 miles of hiking and biking trails ahead of the 2025-26 ski season—this marks the second straight year the county has fast-tracked such projects without an approved master plan. The planning department will review a revised master plan that is expected in a few months. The Salt Lake Tribune
- ➤ Ogden will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. on April 23 to launch eight new Level 3 EV chargers at Union Station—installations supplied by the city and funded by Rocky Mountain Power. The chargers will let commuters get a full charge in about 20 minutes and add to Ogden’s expanding network of public charging stations. Standard-Examiner
