See's Candies opened a new store at Crosspointe Shoppes on 4013 Riverdale Road in South Ogden after leaving its longtime spot at Newgate Mall.

An Ogden police officer was involved in a shooting early Friday morning near Motel 6 on West 21st Street in West Haven when officers attempted to apprehend a suspect with a firearm and held a press conference at 8:00 a.m.

21st St. in West Haven, Ogden officers from the Metro Gang Task Force shot a fleeing suspect involved in an aggravated robbery when he produced a firearm — the suspect died while one officer was injured and released from the hospital, and two officers have been placed on administrative leave pending an independent investigation.

Ogden Police Department responded to a call on Wednesday night at about 9:06 p.m. on the 400 block of 800 North in Ogden where a 40-year-old woman was found with a single gunshot wound to her left upper chest — she was taken to a local hospital and died, with her identity remaining unreleased.

Ogden Friends of Acoustic Music announced the 17th annual Ogden Music Festival lineup for May 30-June 1 at Fort Buenaventura in Ogden.

The festival will host acts such as Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives — Cimafunk and John Craigie and The Coffis Brothers and is expected to draw about 3500 attendees.

Cache County approved Powder Mountain’s request for a new private lift, maintenance shack, and 9.2 miles of hiking and biking trails ahead of the 2025-26 ski season—this marks the second straight year the county has fast-tracked such projects without an approved master plan.

The planning department will review a revised master plan that is expected in a few months.

Ogden will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. on April 23 to launch eight new Level 3 EV chargers at Union Station—installations supplied by the city and funded by Rocky Mountain Power.

The chargers will let commuters get a full charge in about 20 minutes and add to Ogden’s expanding network of public charging stations.
