SPORTS NEWS

  • Saturday, Apr. 4, Fremont High pitcher Hunter Maycock struck out 11 to lead his team to a 4-3 comeback win over Weber in Plain City after three stormy days caused delays (spring break rivalry game).  Standard-Examiner
  • Roy High baseball defeated Ogden 12-1 on Friday when Parker Skidmore pitched a strong two-hitter, while Bear River softball secured region wins on Monday and Tuesday with standout home runs and effective pitching. Other local schools also competed in spring break prep games.  Standard-Examiner
  • Weber State introduced Kaleb Canales as the new men’s basketball head coach Friday, Apr. 3 at the Dee Events Center in Ogden. He brings 18 years of NBA experience from his previous role at Troy University and has already earned praise from well-known basketball figures.  Standard-Examiner
