  • Nordic Valley Ski Resort clarified that it is not planning a billion-dollar expansion with 12 chairlifts and hundreds of homes and will proceed with its approved 2024 plan to improve skiable areas and add a community plaza (near Liberty Park).   • Weber State’s production of 'Cabaret' at Eccles Theatre featured strong performances in shows from April 3 to 4 and will continue from April 8 to 11. The production overcame dress rehearsal challenges — an unexpected cast change ensured the show went on.  The Ogdenite

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • On Monday, the Great Salt Lake Watershed Enhancement Trust announced it leased 2,500-acre feet of water from the Metropolitan Water District of Salt Lake City & Sandy, thanks to local conservation efforts. The measure will secure water for the Great Salt Lake for the next five to ten years.  FOX 13 News

  • The Utah Association of CPAs outlined five essential tax tips for filing 2025 returns, advising Utahns on overtime, tip, and senior bonus deductions, a higher SALT cap, car loan interest, + careful reporting of 1099-K forms from side hustles.   • New analysis from Pew shows that Austin’s zoning changes cut rent by about 4% in five years, and local housing leaders in Utah are reviewing similar strategies (including easier permit processes) to ease the state’s growing shortage and help prevent future cost spikes for tenants.  KUER
