- ➤ Ricardo Trujillo Rojel is accused of killing his partner on March 24 at their Riverdale trailer by choking her, setting a fire, and fleeing with their children — a crime that followed a 2021 incident of attempted strangulation — while Utah lawmakers recently cut funding for forensic strangulation exams meant to detect abuse signs. - ➤ Ogden City has acquired the historic US Forest Service building at 507 25th Street for $3.6 million and plans to preserve it for future use. The city will work with Giv Group—known for community projects—to create a mixed-use space with affordable housing, creative studios and art areas in the Nine Rails Creative District. - ➤ Utah lawmakers passed several water conservation bills to adjust management for the Great Salt Lake and Lake Powell after House Speaker Mike Schultz requested a pause from major water laws.
