EDUCATION NEWS

  • Seventeen international students and recent graduates at the University of Utah had their visas revoked after receiving letters instructing them to self-deport early last week—causing confusion and fear. Five Weber State students in Ogden and two at Snow College were also affected amid a nationwide revocation of about 300 visas.  FOX 13 News
  • Weber State University will hold its outdoor spring commencement at Stewart Stadium with convocation ceremonies from 9 a.m. April 25 to April 26 and a general ceremony at 7 p.m. April 25—featuring a drone show and guest speaker Diane Morais who used to lead Ally Bank—while events will move indoors to the Dee Events Center if weather forces a change.  Standard-Examiner

  • The Weber County Library System will host free events for Earth Day, including a live ladybug giveaway at all branches starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 26.
