CRIME NEWS

  • Ogden recycling center owner David Rawson was arrested on Thursday on charges for dumping wastewater without a permit and violating the Water Quality Act after officials discovered an unpermitted pipe system began diverting industrial wastewater in August 2022—city inspectors later plugged the outfall and issued multiple warnings and fines.  FOX 13 News

  • Immigration experts in Utah say less than one in four immigration court cases have an attorney, a drop linked to growing case numbers and high legal fees that leave many facing deportation without proper representation—data shows nearly all cases where individuals stayed in the country had a lawyer. Experts warn that the shortage of legal help and rising scams may force more immigrants to represent themselves and risk removal.  KUER
