- ➤ Alan Osmond, the oldest Osmond brother and a founding member of the famous pop group, died at 8:30 p.m. today surrounded by family and friends. The Utah native had battled multiple sclerosis since 1987 and helped shape a chart-topping sound that defined an era. Gephardt Daily

- ➤ Gas prices in Ogden dropped 9.1 cents per gallon last week based on a survey of 160 stations — the average now is $4.10 with prices ranging from $3.79 to $4.29. Experts warn that global oil risks could drive fuel costs higher soon. Standard-Examiner
