- ➤ Ogden police said Ana Maria Zaragoza is accused of fatally shooting Rose Park mother Nakeena Youngman after an argument near an apartment on April 2, and surveillance video linking her silver Nissan to the scene plus later evidence of DUI, drug, and weapon offenses has deepened the investigation. - ➤ At the Weber County Commission meeting on Tuesday morning at the Weber Center, commissioners awarded the annual crystal bowl awards to outstanding employee Jamie Pitt, outstanding business Seager Memorial Clinic, outstanding individual Luis Lopez and outstanding veteran Carl Boyington for their contributions to the community. They also approved new fines for parking violations near Pineview and Causey reservoirs—$150 if paid within 14 days and $300 after for first-time offenders, with higher fines for repeat offenders, effective from May 15 until September 15. - ➤ A coalition of labor groups met the signature threshold needed to trigger a ballot referendum to repeal HB267— the law that restricts public unions from collective bargaining.
