- ➤ A nonprofit in Ogden rescued eight dogs from a hoarding home and placed them in foster care, and now the animals are in better shape after several vet visits — the males are ready for adoption while most females are still being held because they may be pregnant. FOX 13 News
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Two men in Ogden are facing nearly 1,000 misdemeanor charges after 156 dogs and 11 cats were removed from a home on the 3000 block of Jefferson Avenue on April 15 due to poor animal care—73-year-old Miguel Salgado-Vargas faces 637 charges while 50-year-old Ramon Cano Aispuro faces 338 charges and both will appear in court on July 15. White Community Center will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony on May 22 at 5 p.m. — an open house with guided tours of its 68000 sq ft facility is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. — and the center will open for public use on May 23 at 6 a.m. Standard-Examiner
- ➤ At a conference hosted by Solutions Utah on Wednesday, Gov. Spencer Cox and author Sam Quinones discussed changes to Utah’s homeless system after new laws passed to add jail and treatment beds.
