Ogden police shot a 37-year-old man on Tuesday just after 2:10 a.m. on Wall Avenue when he allegedly pulled two knives from his pocket—he is now in stable condition in hospital and his case remains under investigation.

A 37-year-old man lunged at an officer with two knives near the 2200 block of Wall Avenue early Tuesday morning and was shot; he was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition while the officer remains on administrative leave + the Weber County Attorney’s Office is investigating the incident.

On Tuesday just after 2:10 a.m., Ogden police encountered a 37-year-old man walking on the 2200 block of Wall Avenue who allegedly pulled two knives, leading an officer to fire his weapon and send the man to the hospital in stable condition — the officer has been placed on administrative leave as the investigation by the Weber County Attorney's Office continues.

A series of events are planned in Ogden Valley to honor the 200th anniversary of Peter Skene Ogden’s arrival, including a lecture on May 21 at 7 p.m. at Eden’s Hearthside Event Center and a re-enactment on May 24 at 10 a.m. near Mountain Green.

Additional activities will mark historic camping spots and honor Ogden’s descendants (with local leaders and heritage groups participating).

The Ogden Raptors will host Fan Fest on May 17 at Lindquist Field with free admission starting at 5:30 p.m.—the event will include a $20 home run derby contest, scrimmage, and meet-and-greet with players.

The team will also run special promotions—like free mystery items for early arrivals—and a season opener on May 20 will kick off their 2025 schedule.
