- ➤ The federal government has reinstated legal status for dozens of international students after their statuses were revoked last month without notice. Immigration attorneys and the ACLU challenged the revocations, and DHS will review each student on a case-by-case basis. KSL-TV
- ➤ Sheridan College in Wyoming is offering Utah students in-state tuition rates as low as $4,800 per year to boost enrollment amid a national decline in college-age residents, a move that Utah higher education leaders say amounts to student poaching. Local officials plan to improve the value of in-state education by keeping costs low and quality high – a strategy aimed at retaining Utah students in local institutions. The Salt Lake Tribune

- ➤ Scholars from the University of Utah’s S.J. Quinney College of Law warned that if the Great Salt Lake continues to dry, its collapse will damage Utah's economy—threatening jobs, tourism, property values and public health. - ➤ Today, the Utah Department of Transportation said six of nine seasonal highways will open by Memorial Day weekend to give drivers and hikers cooler routes and more trail access. - ➤ During its Tuesday meeting at Weber Center, the Weber County Commission approved a contract with John Rogers to represent indigent people in Ogden’s 2nd District Court. Rogers—a BYU alum and former Los Angeles prosecutor—was hired to replace Martin Gravis, who died April 25 after a long battle with cancer. Standard-Examiner
