ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ No injuries were reported after a structure fire at a home on the 2900 block of Jackson Avenue around 6 a.m. Friday that displaced three adults and three children, as firefighters from Ogden and South Ogden quickly subdued the flames and damage was estimated at $200,000 (the cause is under investigation). - ➤ A sinkhole was discovered just before 8 a.m. Friday in the southbound lanes of I-15 near the 5600 South interchange in Weber County—forcing two lanes to close and causing traffic to back up to 21st Street with about 30-minute delays—and repairs were scheduled to finish by noon while further delays were expected. - ➤ A man was arrested Thursday after a stabbing at Greenhill Apartments in Riverdale left a woman dead, and police say 39-year-old Scott Thomas Myers—suspected of murder and other charges—was subdued with a Taser when he fled the scene. Standard-Examiner

- ➤ Weber High School principal Ryan Kachold pleaded with students to stop racing and reckless driving in the school parking lot. He said the dangerous behavior—caught on cameras—has decreased after a letter to families and a partnership with local law enforcement. FOX 13 News

- ➤ Ogden’s mayor Ben Nadolski and local leaders, including Weber County Commissioner Jim Harvey, were named to new advisory committees for the 2034 Winter Olympics and Paralympics in Salt Lake City. - ➤ Summit County and 19 state agencies have approved proposals to move forward with building renewable energy facilities in collaboration with Rocky Mountain Power.
