Good morning, Ogden.

Earlier this week, storms brought flash flooding to Roosevelt and Vernal, disrupting tee ball games and washing out roads.

The Utah Division of Emergency Management (Genevieve Keys) warned that dry soil and swift water flows create hazards for drivers and hikers.

The USGS reported a 3.1 magnitude earthquake on Thursday, May 28 at 2:58 p.m. about seven miles south-southwest of Snowville in the West Desert of Box Elder County; no damage or injuries were reported.

Drivers in Utah can cut auto insurance costs by shopping around, checking credit scores, taking a defensive driving course and bundling policies to secure discounts — advice from the Consumer Federation of America.

Rates range from $564 for excellent credit to $1,167 for poor credit.

UTA has lowered fares today, but its new payment process may challenge older and low-income riders as officials review changes to streamline transactions (concerns remain among affected passengers).
