Good morning, Ogden.
🏘️ Community
On Friday, May 30, families at Ogden’s Liberty Park joined a baby race event held by United Way of Northern Utah to support its Welcome Baby program that supplies essential items and educational kits to young families.
The program, now in its 11th year, also benefited from matching funds from the Larry H. + Gail Miller Family Foundation to reach more households across the area.
🎓 Education
The Ogden School District increased graduation rates to 90% overall and 87% at George Washington High by using extra support measures to help students overcome barriers.
Officials detailed targeted strategies such as personalized tracking and home visits to address issues with attendance (a change that has given many students new hope).
🏛️ Government
Ogden City Police officers now have new badges modeled after a design from the late 1800s to the 1960s.
Chief Jake Sube said the badges honor the department’s 170th anniversary—reminding each officer of their long legacy of service.
