- ➤ Ogden City police said that 48-year-old Jennifer Martinez died from a knife wound at her Washington Boulevard home on June 19—her 25-year-old son, Alec Conrad Martinez, was detained at the scene and charged with aggravated murder and disarming a police officer. Gephardt Daily

- ➤ Webber County Sheriff’s Office announced the death of Sgt. Brandon Miles, a veteran officer who served from April 2007 until his passing. Viewings will be held at Lindquist Mortuary (3408 Washington Blvd, Ogden) Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., with a funeral service at 2 p.m. Monday and military honors to follow.
