  • Beloved high school football coach Erick Thompson retired from Ogden High after 21 years due to ALS and his family moved into a new accessible home provided by the Northern Wasatch Association of Realtors and Homebuilders through its Have a Heart program. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Utah Gov. Spencer Cox declared that Sunday, June 29 will be a statewide Day of Prayer and Fasting for Rain—aiming to address worsening drought conditions and increasing wildfire risks. State agencies will work with local governments and farmers to monitor drought data and coordinate water-saving measures.  Gephardt Daily
  • Ogden City announced that the Own in Ogden homeownership funding will start accepting applications July 1 on a first-come, first-served basis until the $350,000 budget is exhausted. The program offers up to $10,000 for down payment and closing costs with some public employees eligible for up to $20,000—applicants must purchase a home in Ogden and complete a HUD-approved course.  Standard-Examiner
