Good morning, Ogden. Here's your local news at a glance for Thursday, the 10th of July.

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Ogden City’s Mayor Ben Nadolski forwarded Deputy Fire Chief Mike Slater’s nomination to the City Council to replace Chief Mike Mathieu, who retires on July 15—Slater has risen through the ranks since 1997 and will have his appointment discussed at the upcoming meeting.  Standard-Examiner
  • A judge ruled on June 5 that the Utah School Boards Association must open its records under state law because it collects fees with taxpayer money—forcing the nonprofit, which has advised school boards for 93 years, to reveal its spending.
