ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A 69-year-old man died in a motorcycle crash near Causey Reservoir on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. on Causey Road near the entrance to Weber Memorial Park—police said he was not wearing a helmet and speed may have been a factor. Standard-Examiner
- ➤ One person was taken to the hospital after firefighters found them in a trailer on fire near 1065 Wall Avenue in Ogden at around 5:26 a.m. Tuesday—fire crews contained the blaze and are investigating the cause. FOX 13 News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On July 14, 2025, public safety, health, and drug enforcement leaders met on the south steps of the Utah State Capitol to update on the Governor’s Fentanyl Task Force formed last fall to fight the growing fentanyl crisis. Officials noted that H.B. 87 now imposes tougher penalties on fentanyl traffickers and that recent Fourth of July weekend arrests may lead to the first state prosecution under the new law—actions that benefit communities such as Ogden. - ➤ Weber County Animal Services hired Siri Main in June as its new director to boost community involvement and improve animal care — she plans to expand the Doggie Daycation program to include cats and make the volunteer process faster; Main said her lifelong love for animals has driven her work in the nonprofit shelter field and the shelter has already joined forces with Best Friends Animal Society to boost care.
