- ➤ At its Tuesday meeting, the Weber County Commission approved a contract to extend 4100 North to Fairways Drive in Ogden Valley for better access to Powder Mountain—Asphalt Construction and Excavating was awarded the job after nine bids, and the project will be funded with $1,451,000 in sales tax funds, about $260,000 in county fees, and additional developer contributions. - ➤ Cache County officials reported that mosquito pools from Amalga, Trenton, Lewiston, and Newton tested positive for West Nile virus on July 8th—marking the earliest detection ever—and they urged northern Utah residents to protect themselves with insect repellent, long sleeves, and removal of standing water.
