- ➤ The Ogden City Police Department will host its annual Night Out Against Crime event on Aug. 14 from 5-7 p.m. at Marshall N. White Community Center to promote community partnership—other agencies in Clearfield and Syracuse will hold similar gatherings on Aug. 28 and Oct. 2. Standard-Examiner

- ➤ Ogden Valley candidates for districts 1 and 2 shared their plans ahead of the municipal primary on Aug. 12, when voters will narrow the field for a five-member city council and an at-large mayor. - ➤ Utah lawmakers passed a law requiring a hunting or fishing license to enter Wildlife Management Areas in Salt Lake, Utah, Davis and Weber counties starting May 7 — a rule that has confused birders, runners and others who use these lands without hunting intent.
