ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Thirteen residents were displaced from a multi-level apartment building on 32nd Street after a Monday night fire — firefighters from Ogden City Fire and Riverdale Fire quickly put the blaze out, treated one firefighter for heat exhaustion, and secured the scene while the Fire Marshal’s Office investigates the cause and estimates damage at about $1 million. - ➤ A car overturned on Tuesday on northbound I-15 near Roy when a driver swerved to avoid a ladder that had blown off another vehicle in a busy construction zone. Trooper Warren Jones (Utah Highway Patrol) said drivers should slow down for safety as construction in the area will continue through November. FOX 13 News

- ➤ Weber County is testing an AI camera system from Pano.AI that detects small fires early to give dispatchers time to alert first responders before fires grow into major problems. The system is set up with five cameras in key spots including Ogden Valley and will add two more in Morgan County so that dispatchers can review images quickly. KSL-TV

- ➤ At Tuesday's meeting, the Weber County Commission voted 2-1 to table an ordinance for rezoning and a development agreement for the Westbridge Meadows community in western Weber County—this plan could eventually create housing for over 38,500 people and require major road and utility improvements. - ➤ Ogden Valley residents will vote in their first municipal primary election on Aug. 12 as mayoral and city council candidates introduce their plans to manage growth and secure local resources—key issues for the future of local government. - ➤ Smith Entertainment Group Hockey and Uyte, LLC filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court of Utah on Friday against Mammoth Hockey over the use of the Utah Mammoth name — the suit argues that their use does not infringe on Mammoth Hockey’s long-held trademark and presents that the two logos and channels of trade are different. The case remains pending as both sides offer conflicting evidence about potential consumer confusion. KSL-TV
