- ➤ Toby Alt, 53, collapsed at Cache Valley Hospital and was revived by quick CPR and defibrillator shocks—his family said his survival was linked to being near help when his granddaughter was born. He was later flown to Ogden Regional Medical Center where he received a pacemaker and continues to recover. KSL-TV
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Utah will play Texas Tech on Sept. 20 at Rice-Eccles Stadium with a kickoff set for 10 a.m.—the game will air live on FOX 13. Coach Kyle Whittingham said his team is ready for the early start as both undefeated teams prepare for a high-stakes matchup while fans swap tailgating treats for coffee and bacon. FOX 13 News
- ➤ The Utah organizing committee for the 2034 Olympics is using Podium34—an initiative involving local families and foundations that has raised over $200 million—to secure funds until corporate and broadcast revenue begin later. - ➤ Ogden’s Ben Lomond High School coach Ty Smith encouraged new, first-time football players to register after school on Monday—following a 48—0 loss to South Summit on Sept. 5.
