- ➤ Three local spooky events marked the week. At Ogden Dinosaur Park, Dinos in the Dark ran on Oct. 18 and will return on Oct. 23-25 from 6-9 p.m.—Ogden Musical Theatre’s Dracula is playing at Peery’s Egyptian Theatre from Oct. 18-20 while Layton hosted Whispers in the Dark on Oct. 18 with family-friendly storytelling. - ➤ A review of the Rocky Horror Show at Ziegfeld Theater in Ogden praised its lively cast and small, intimate space—bringing the cult musical to life. The production played on Oct. 17 and will continue with a 7:30 p.m. show on Monday and five Park City shows from Oct. 29-Nov. 1—with prop bags available for audience participation. Gephardt Daily

- ➤ After UHSAA released playoff brackets Saturday morning, Fremont and Morgan earned No. 2 seeds while no team claimed a No. 1 seed and Davis and Box Elder received lower placements in their brackets. First-round games are set for Oct. 24 and Oct. 31—semifinals and championships will follow in November at home sites. Standard-Examiner
- ➤ Ogden High junior forward Elle Weston set a new single-season scoring record with 38 goals by scoring a hat trick in an 8-1 win over No. 9 Morgan in the 3A state girls soccer playoffs on Saturday at Spence Eccles Ogden Community Sports Complex (she broke the mark previously held by Kate Pulley). Ogden, with a 15-2 record, will face No. 4 Grantsville in the semifinals on Oct.23 at Zions Bank Stadium. Standard-Examiner
- ➤ On Saturday, Weber State beat Portland State 43-27 in Hillsboro after forcing turnovers and building a late 30-point lead — walk-on running back Spencer Ferguson scored a 24-yard touchdown to help seal the win. The Wildcats made four interceptions and rushed well, and they will host Eastern Washington on Oct 25. Standard-Examiner
