COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Farmington Regional Park hosted the Howloween Half Marathon and 5k on October 25 at 8 a.m. and the Ogden Dinosaur Park held Dinos in the Dark from 6-9 p.m., while downtown Ogden will host Trick-or-Treat Streets on October 31 from 4-8 p.m. — local businesses will offer candy, coupons, and festive treats.  Standard-Examiner

SPORTS NEWS

  • Ogden High won the 3A state girls soccer championship with a 5 to 1 victory over Manti on Saturday at America First Field—securing its sixth title in program history while ending the season on a 14-game winning streak. The team showed strong teamwork and skill throughout the match.  Standard-Examiner
  • Weber State football lost its home game to Eastern Washington 23-20 at Stewart Stadium on Oct 25 after early errors and turnovers cost the team a lead. Coach Mickey Mental’s record fell with key players—such as Davion Godley—suffering injuries during the game.  Standard-Examiner
  • The Utah Mammoth won their sixth straight game with a 6-2 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Saturday night in St. Paul—Logan Cooley and Nick Schmaltz each scored twice to set the pace. The win helped the Mammoth stay near the top of the Western Conference as they move forward into the season.  Standard-Examiner
