- ➤ Gina Cornia, director of Utahns Against Hunger, is in Washington, D.C. this week to urge lawmakers to release SNAP emergency funds before November as the government shutdown will stop new deposits on scheduled days; Becky Wickstrom from the Utah Department of Workforce Services said remaining card balances will still be usable after November 1—offering some relief for food stamp users.
