- ➤ Utah State University has a new president picked under a secret process. Brad Mortensen—previously president at Weber State in Ogden—will take over at USU in Logan on Nov. 10 and is expected to guide the school through major budget cuts. The Salt Lake Tribune
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Utah state leaders launched a temporary initiative on October 30th that directed $500,000 immediately to the Utah Food Bank and will allocate up to $4M over the coming weeks to help families amid the government shutdown — state officials invite nonprofits, faith groups, and businesses to join the relief effort.
