- ➤ Before sunrise, Mike Larson sorts food at the Tri-City exchange in North Ogden where his food pantry has given away 192 million pounds since starting in 2020 amid rising shortages. The pantry serves 1,100 to 1,600 people each month — Larson said it is open Tuesday from 3 to 5 p.m., Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon, and Friday from 12:30 to 5 p.m. while it welcomes volunteers and donations. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Ogden City transferred the historic D&RGW #223 to the 223 Locomotive Foundation—officials said the engine will be moved to Colorado in 2026 for restoration and future excursion trains. The locomotive will eventually become part of the Colorado Railroad Museum collection through agreements with heritage railroads. Standard-Examiner

- ➤ Brad Mortensen, who led Weber State University for seven years, will become president at Utah State University on November 10—Weber State will soon name an interim president and start a search for a new leader. Standard-Examiner

- ➤ Seager Memorial Clinic held a ribbon cutting on October 29 at its new Karl — Erika Michel Center on 24th Street after nearly four decades in a small basement at the Ogden Rescue Mission. The 7,000-square-foot facility will begin serving free medical, dental, vision, mental health and pharmacy services on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 3—5 p.m. Standard-Examiner
