  • On Saturday evening, Youth Futures hosted a sleepout-fundraiser to raise awareness for teen homelessness by handing out cardboard, sleeping bags, and warm clothing to participants. The shelter estimates that 7,000 kids experience homelessness at least one night a year and faces increased challenges from rising costs and blocked federal funds.  FOX 13 News
  • A list of events in Northern Utah shows that some community activities took place on Nov. 8 while sports competitions, film shows, art exhibits and family days will occur through Nov. 16 at local venues + community centers + offering many choices for residents.  Standard-Examiner

  • The 2025 Toyota 4Runner Limited 4WD in Heritage Blue showed its mix of tough off-road skill and modern comfort on a long drive from Denver to Ogden. It has a 2.4-liter turbo engine that makes 278 horsepower and a roomy cabin with new safety features and an optional third row for extra seats—updating a storied SUV without losing its old rugged strength—while saving more fuel than older models.  Standard-Examiner

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Utah has not sent full November SNAP benefits to nearly 169,300 people as officials wait for finalized USDA guidance. The state will release 65% of the funding after testing its system—officials note that food assistance requests are rising amid the ongoing shutdown.  The Salt Lake Tribune
  • Utah and six other western states continue negotiations over the Colorado River as they race to meet the federal November 11 deadline—if they do not reach an agreement, the government may impose its own plan. State officials stress that a deal is needed to manage water cuts during drought conditions and ensure enough water flows for millions.  The Salt Lake Tribune

SPORTS NEWS

  • Weber State football lost to No. 3 Montana State 66—14 in a blowout game in Bozeman on Saturday. Third-string quarterback Chance Wilson scored a late touchdown that pushed Weber State into a record-setting loss.  Standard-Examiner
  • On Saturday night, Utah State built a big first-half lead and routed Nevada 51-14—Barnes passed for 288 yards with three touchdown passes and Davis ran two short-yardage touchdown runs—helping the Aggies score on six of their first seven possessions and hold a 41-0 halftime lead.  FOX 13 News
  • Weber State volleyball swept both road matches in Idaho and against Eastern Washington in straight sets to improve their record to 15-9 overall and 7-5 in Big Sky play — they will host Northern Arizona on Thursday and Northern Colorado on Saturday.  Standard-Examiner
  • On Saturday, Weber State women’s basketball team earned its first regular-season win by defeating Westminster 84-47 at the Dee Events Center—Nicole Willardson scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds—and the Wildcats will host UC Davis at 6 p.m. Wednesday.  Standard-Examiner
