GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Rocky Mountain Power said a power outage affected about 4,815 customers in Marriott-Slatersville, Ogden and West Haven on November 12th—service was estimated to be restored by 3 p.m. while the cause remains under investigation. KSL-TV
- ➤ Utah and six other Colorado River states reached a tentative agreement to work on a long-term plan for sharing river water and will meet until mid-February to shape a framework solution—officials say this plan is needed as water shortages continue to challenge supplies. The deal will guide future water conservation efforts while ensuring that all states have access to the river's resource. KSL-TV
- ➤ On day 43 of the government shutdown, many Utah families are struggling as unpaid workers and canceled flights force them to rely on food pantries—Utah Food Bank CEO Ginette Bott said generous donations and $4 million in state funds have kept 300 pantries stocked across 29 counties. In Ogden, local business leader Jason Wright has started a food drive with partners, and the Food Bank will soon hold a Thanksgiving Day race to help raise more funds for those in need. KSL-TV

- ➤ Weber State women’s basketball lost 75-52 to UC Davis on November 12th at the Dee Events Center in Ogden—Lanae Billy scored 19 points while the Wildcats struggled defensively, and coach Jenteal Jackson said they need to improve before their home game against Utah Tech on Saturday. - ➤ Weber State football announced a coaching change as head coach Mickey Mental was replaced by interim coach Brent Myers — the longtime offensive line coach — who urged the Wildcats to stay together. - ➤ Utah State pulled away after a 41-41 halftime tie to beat Weber State 83-73 on November 12 in Logan—gaining a strong second-half lead in front of 9,124 fans.
