CRIME NEWS

  • On Monday morning, someone vandalized the Milk Barn Creamery storefront at 1327 Wall Ave.—the writing referenced Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr and raw milk, prompting owner Trevor Rose to file a police report as the family farm continues operating amid strong community support.  The Salt Lake Tribune

CULTURE NEWS

  • Ogden City Arts honored six local artists with the Mayor’s Awards in the Arts during a private event at Union Station on November 6, recognizing their impactful contributions to the local art scene. Mayor Ben Nadolski said the honorees were selected through public nominations and a volunteer review process — a method that emphasizes community-driven recognition.  Standard-Examiner
  • The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced Wednesday that it will cancel Saturday evening general conference sessions beginning in April 2026—changing the twice annual schedule in April and October. The sessions, held in Salt Lake City and broadcast worldwide, will no longer include the Saturday evening meeting.  Gephardt Daily

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • About half of Utah’s counties reached their 2030 water conservation goals at least once recently while 14 counties, including Weber and Box Elder, continue to use more water than needed. In Wayne County, Mayor Mickey Wright is replacing a patch of grass with a high desert garden—hoping to inspire conservation and avoid expensive pipeline projects next spring.  KUER

  • A new report from the University of Utah’s Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute shows that Utah’s population will grow from 3.6 million today to 5.6 million by 2065, adding about 1.2 million jobs. State leaders must plan for an aging, more urban population—key sectors include health care, professional services and construction.  Standard-Examiner

  • Weber Human Services installed six Narcan vending machines across Ogden earlier this month—these machines are located at the Sheriff's Office, police department, USARA location, Midtown Community Health Center, Lantern House, and Weber Human Services office and are free to use with the code 1234 to help prevent opioid overdoses.  Standard-Examiner

  • Ogden High boys basketball won 58-51 at home on Wednesday against Juab, with senior Jackson Maw scoring 21 points and strong bench play helping the Tigers overcome challenges—the team will face Mountain Crest on Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. in their next contest.  Standard-Examiner
  • Snowbasin Resort in Huntsville was named the top ski resort on USA Today's Top 10 list for the second year in a row after experts and readers selected it. The resort will open on Nov. 28 in the Wasatch Mountains and will offer advanced lift systems and 114 trails.  FOX 13 News
