Here's your local news at a glance for Friday, the 21st of November.
Good morning, Ogden.
In April, Ogden motorcyclist Bradon Clark was involved in a severe crash on Washington Boulevard when a car turned in front of him and he was launched into the air without a helmet—volunteer firefighter Austin Jenkins and first responders provided life-saving care at Ogden Regional Medical Center while his wife Jodi helped guide his recovery as he later met with the rescuers in an emotional reunion.
Utah’s Division of Air Quality announced that seven new industrial activities—fuel storage tanks, abrasive blasting, degreasing operations, municipal solid waste landfills, emergency engines, dry cleaners and auto body shops—will use permit by rule to speed up project approvals without a full environmental review. Some environmental advocates worry that this streamlined process may lower air quality standards at sites with unique pollution risks.
Ben Lomond’s new girls basketball coach Jamie Phippen led the team in a 41-14 home opener loss to Maeser Prep on November 20—she noted promising second-half play and a mix of new faces with returning seniors.
The rebuilding team will work on boosting its confidence and basketball IQ in upcoming games.
