  • Dozens of avid skiers camped overnight on Thursday at Snowbasin Ski Resort — a tradition that adds to the excitement as the resort debuts a new chairlift and RFID ticket system ahead of its opening this weekend.  FOX 13 News

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Utah law enforcement warned that four pedestrians were fatally struck since Nov. 23 in low-light conditions statewide and urged everyone to use reflective gear and follow safety practices as a new enforcement effort runs through Jan. 3 — officials aim to reduce winter accident risks.  KSL-TV

BUSINESS NEWS

  • A Utah State University study of 100 top companies shows that while nearly all offer flexible hours and most provide remote work, job sharing fell from 21 in 2023 to five in 2025 and only 25 support childcare. The report suggests local businesses may need to expand part-time roles to better balance work & family demands.  KSL-TV

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Indigenous author Darcie Little Badger canceled her talk at Weber State on Nov. 20 after receiving a list of banned DEI words required by state law HB261. The university said the list was a courtesy for speakers while Little Badger said it restricted genuine discussion about Native issues.  The Salt Lake Tribune

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Reframe Systems is negotiating with local partners to bring factory-built homes designed to cut construction time and costs to the region. Zoning rules may slow the approach — officials must streamline permits to ease the housing shortage.  KUER

SPORTS NEWS

  • Weber State defeated Oral Roberts 92-66 in a home game on Dec. 3, 2025 at the Dee Events Center in Ogden as the Wildcats capitalized on a 28-4 run after junior sharpshooter Viljami Vartiainen (injured) was sidelined, with Jace Whiting leading with 18 points.  Standard-Examiner
  • Weber State signed 16 high school recruits on Wednesday for the 2026 football class, even as officials announced a change in the head coach position for next season. Interim coach Brent Myers said he was clear with players during a recruiting weekend in Ogden & expects to build on success.  Standard-Examiner
  • At the Bear River Winter Classic yesterday, Roy High defeated Uintah 67 — 50 behind Parker’s 24 points and Greenhalgh’s 19, while Bear River edged Emery as Thurgood scored 42 points; Ogden forced double overtime but lost 80 — 78 to Canyon View.  Standard-Examiner
