  • Cocoa with Cops returns to Christmas Village today from 6 to 9 p.m. for its third year, featuring Ogden City police and on Dec. 16 the Ogden Fire Department at a hot chocolate stand that supports Shoes for Tots by providing shoes to kids in need.  Standard-Examiner
  • Three local nonprofits received warm clothes and cash donations from the 'Warm Bodies, Warm Souls' drive, with 561 bags and $10,040 given to 15 organizations across Logan & St. George. Donations were collected by Bank of Utah, Arctic Circle & Red Hanger to aid youth and families facing hardship.  Standard-Examiner
  • GoFundMe’s 2025 report found that Utah ranked 10th in generosity, with Utahns donating over $30.7 million via more than 330,000 contributions + fundraisers for charities, competitions and monthly bills grew significantly.   • Weber State’s online Post-Master’s Leadership & Management Certificate earned a number two ranking on RegisteredNursing.org last week at its Ogden campus, highlighting flexible, evidence-based learning for registered nurses.  Standard-Examiner

SPORTS NEWS

  • Weber State women's basketball beat Montana Western 74-33 Tuesday morning at the Dee Events Center, snapping a five-game loss streak. Forward Paris Lauro scored a career-high 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds while redshirt freshman Maya Davis had a key moment at the free throw line.  Standard-Examiner
  • Weber High secured a one-possession win over Fremont Tuesday in Pleasant View as senior Derek Bowden scored 24 points before fouling out—junior Creed DeVries blocked a key shot to seal the victory, with Coach Cosby praising the team's trust in each other during the final minute.  Standard-Examiner
  • Ogden beat Granger 51 to 33 in a road game Tuesday night, with Salote Tonga scoring 13 points + Taylor Duke and Juliet Knowles each adding eight. The team held Granger to just four points in the first quarter.  Standard-Examiner
