If you're heading south on I-15 tonight, leave early. Southbound I-15 will close completely between 200 North in Kaysville and Park Lane in Farmington for striping and signage work.

Two ramps close at 10 p.m. Friday too: the Park Lane on-ramp to southbound Legacy Parkway in Farmington, and in Riverdale, the ramp from southbound I-15 to eastbound I-84, where crews will put the second half of a new bridge into place. ABC4 lists the Riverdale ramp reopening Mon., Nov. 9, at 6 a.m., but Utah Public Radio puts it in the same Friday-night-to-Saturday window as the I-15 closure. We'd check 's traffic site before you go.

Davis County

Davis County breaks ground on a bigger animal shelter in Fruit Heights

If you adopt or drop off pets in Davis County, a bigger shelter is on the way. Officials held a groundbreaking Wednesday for a 27,223-square-foot replacement at 1422 E. 600 North. It will stand on the same 12-acre property as the 1985 original.

The new shelter will be more than double the size of the old one

Michelle Hicks, director of , said plans have been in place for about five years. The old building's mechanical systems and air-handling units were deemed unreliable, and it has no room to quarantine sick animals. Last year the shelter took in over 5,000 animals.

Extremely low water at has uncovered century-old artesian wells, FOX 13 News Utah reports, as Ogden City works on replacing a decades-old drinking water pipeline.
